My opinion on leaving school for a strike

Personally I think that it should be allowed for a student to skip school for an important strike that
they think needs to be stood up for.

Although I think they should be allowed it needs to be for a decent reason not just to skip class,
like they need to prove they can go cause if they cant it’s just a skip class pass. For example if there’s
a protest about workers needing to get better shifts and i want to go then i need to prove that i
have a valuable reason to go cause if i have a job and i'm working from 3 till 10/11 that is so long for
someone to be constantly on their feet or in a chair and i think that it should be better shifts.

'Visiting' South Africa ???

Today we have begun coutry study we had a list of counrties to chose from such as: Australia, Canada, Chile, England (United Kingdom), Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa & United Arab Emirates. I chose to do South Africa for a few reasons.
Image result for south africa
a) I am South African but I would like to know more about South Africa and dive deeper into the culture and history of South Africa.

b) A lot of people underestimate South Africa and think that there isn'tmuch there but it is actually very lively and full of different wonder.

I cant wait to share my discoveries on my blog as I continue my learning and research.

Vocabulary task for Wild boy.

Click here to view the work I have done on the book Wild boy.

Brando Yelavich turned his life around around. He was ready – as ready as he’d ever be – to walk around the coastline of New Zealand. On 1 February 2013, he set off from
the top of the North Island. Starting in Cape Reinga he walked all the way through rocky shores and cliffs.

In this task we had to answer the question of what we think this word means before reading the book and after reading the book.

That was Mistletoe Bay

This year I had the best camp ever!
We went to Mistletoe Bay and it was such a fun experience, the weather was great and I wanted to go back as soon as I got back home.
Every day was a different activity.
But I would always return to go to the kayaks and the water!
I hope you get the chance to go to mistletoe bay!

This week we made accompanying poems to tell you about what happened in a creative way I hope you enjoy my poem.

Eye report for writing

The past two weeks in writing we have been working on reports that have to do with parts of the body and I chose to write a report on the eye out of our three options (eye, heart or pancreas). I transferred the report from a google doc to a google slide to present it. Did you know that silver isn't a shade of blue? Read on!

Literacy Reflection T4 W6

Hello everyone, this week in literacy we have been writing about the recent earthquakes. We have been doing some spelling and we have been writing a lot about wisdom teeth so get ready for a jam packed post.

Word Work activity
For this word work activity, I had to write all my spelling words. Then I had to colour the letters in the colours of the rainbow I really liked this activity because it was very colourful and fun.

Writing activity
For writing this week we had to write about the horrible earthquakes that started on Sunday just after midnight, I found this hard to write because I slept through the big one at night. But I found the rest of it easy to write because I had to write about everything that happened during the day.

Here is the link if you want to read more!📖

Follow Up activity
For follow up this week we have had to read an article about wisdom teeth and then put all the information that we have gathered into a explanation burger. Then after we have gathered our information and then put it into our explanation burger we had to record our selves and the last step out it on our blog which is this.

Literacy Reflection T4 W5

Kia Ora everyone! I hope that you are looking  forward to reading my reflection for literacy this week, it has been pretty jam packed: we have had to do some more work on Myths and Legends, Word work, Follow up from the teachers, so get ready for a jam packed post!

Myths and legends:
This week in Myths and legends I finished two pieces of writing:
My mythical creature: The Hobble-Wobbler!
If I were a mythical creature: I want to be a Fairy!
In writing this week I found it hard to decide what my mythical creature would be let alone describe it and make pictures of it. But once I got the hang of it, it turned out really easy. I found it really easy giving reasons on why I want to be a fairy. I found it hard finding the right picture though.
My NSL (next step learning) for my writing is to think it through and make it a fun activity.  I also need to give good detail and don't put in unnecessary words.
My Mythical creature:

If I were a Mythical creature: Fairy!:

Word Work:
In my word work I had to circle every vowel in each word it took a while but I think it was fun. Here it is:

Follow Up: Going into the jungle
So this person was going into the jungle and we had to write three paragraphs about it.  They were all for different purposes -  Entertainment, Information and Persuade. Here my writing is:

If this video isn't working let me know in the comments or go to this link: Going into the jungle

Literacy Reflection T4 W4

Hello Everyone welcome back to my blog it has been a pretty jam packed day with literacy:
Word work, Writing, Reading, and more!
Enjoy my literacy reflection for this week, can you believe that it is already term 4!!!

Word Work:
This week in word work I have been updating my spreadsheet and I have some new work to post!

I found it hard to understand the word's meaning so I could write some sentences about them.
I found it easy to find the right picture after finding the meaning of the word.
NSL: to know the meaning of the word.

Writing:
This week in writing I have been working on my myths and legends work: I have been writing my own myth about cheetahs!
Here is my Cheetah Myth:

I found it hard to know what animal I should write about.
I found it easy to write a myth about the animal once I chose it.
NSL: to include my W.A.L.T more!

Reading:
