Should NZ use fossil fuels

We should consider switching to renewable energy sources because non-renewable energy sources use oil, gas and coal which are becoming more and more difficult to come by. When you use those energy sources they cannot be used again whereas renewable energy sources like; Hydro, Solar and wind can be used over and over again because of their continuous cycle.

Disadvantages: When fossil fuels are burnt they go on to pollute the air and release carbon dioxide, which us humans are incapable of both breathing in and staying alive at the same time. One of the main reasons that we still use these items is because here in NZ we have a lot of them so it is very convenient for us Kiwi’s. Drilling for Fossil fuels is very dangerous because there could be serious accidents or spills. Mining is used to extract solid fossil fuels such as; coal, by digging or scraping. Drilling is used to get to liquids or gaseous fossil fuels.

Pros and Cons on both sides: There are advantages to using renewable energy like; They won't run out, Less maintenance is required and you can actually save money in the long run. But then there are some disadvantages like; a higher upfront cost and geographic limitations. But if you look at renewable energy as a whole, the positives outweigh the negatives. An advantage to using non-renewable energy sources is; The technologies used to harness these energy sources are well developed by now and they are readily available. Although that might sound great, there are many disadvantages which you can reference in para #1.

My View on said topic: If you were to ask for my stance on the topic ...which you have, I would say that we should switch to green energy sources this earth should be treated as well as we should treat others so why is it being treated so harshly?

That's what I wrote in my 'Renewable vs Non-Renewable' energy essay.
I think it was a good topic to write an essay about and I enjoyed it once I got into it.
